Waste fired clay brick as a potential cement replacement material. Part I - a review

Abstract

The economic and environmental costs of producing and utilising building materials is becoming unacceptable in the current world climate. Utilisation of waste products can contribute to reducing these costs and also improve the performance of some construction materials. In particular partial replacement of cement in concrete by pozzolanic waste can produce a more durable product with enhanced performance.
