Abstract
The binding and hardening processes of the refractory complex binder is multiplex: water-glass which is in water-glass solution reacts with metallurgic slag; and aluminate cement reacts with the water of water-glass solution. In this work it was established that the process of aluminate cement hydratation in the complex binder depends on the density of water-glass solution: when the density of water-glass solution is lower than 1002,5 kg/m3, the speed of the reaction between aluminate cement and water-glass solution is almost the same as it would be between aluminate cement and clean water; when the density of water-glass solution is (1005-1010) kg/m3, a significant retardation effect is reached in the hydratation process of aluminate cement; when the density of water-glass solution is (1020-1250) kg/m3, the processes of aluminate cement hydratation are considerably fast, but still 2 times slower than they would be if clean water was used instead of water-glass solution; when the density of water-glass solution is increased over 1330 kg/m3, the process of aluminate cement hydratation starts slowing down again.
