Abstract

The restoration of independence in Lithuania has opened the way for new technologies and equipment. The problem is no longer where and how to acquire it - it is now what and how to choose. In the article the following factors which must be taken into consideration when choosing technology are analyzed: management, technical qualification of personnel, servicing of equipment and the scope of work. Alternatives for acquiring new technology are also examined, such as leasing or buying used equipment. Impact of these factors on the cost of products is presented.
