Abstract
Developed countries are faced with a trend to loose competitiveness of private consultants versus consulting companies. In the Lithuanian market such a tendency is not yet really expressed. How has this trend developed? A good quality consulting service is not just consulting. The consulting service is a wider understanding and includes a lot of operations which have to be performed. Such as advertising, sales calls, market research, maintaining databases, billing and etc. The private consultant frequently is not able to perform all of these operations in a good quality standard. This article analyses two sides of the consulting service - visible and invisible. Traditionally and especially in Lithuania the most important side of a service is visible. This article emphasises the importance to improve the quality of the invisible side of the services in order to achieve a good quality and ability to compete in the market.
