Experimental investigation on running smoothness of passenger car with wheel flat

The article presents the results of experimental research on a test train. The purpose of the research is to determine the vibrations of the carbody of passenger car with a wheel flat by running along the same track at different speeds. The data collected during the test were processed using the Fourier Transform method. The dependence of RMS values of the wagon vertical and lateral accelerations are created based on the running speed. Experimental data are evaluated by Sperling ride index and general conclusions are given.
