Vilnius Gediminas Technical University academic staff performance evaluation system case study
Abstract
This paper presents the case study on Vilnius Gediminas Technical University (VGTU) Academic Staff Performance Evaluation System aimed at bringing more relevance, transparency, flexibility as well as alignment of human resources performance management with the university strategic goals. Introduced in 2012 the new system resulted in growth of research production and staff motivation, increase of staff salaries, better results of internal quality assurance and external institutional assessment. VGTU academic staff performance evaluation system, analysis of outcomes and impacts as well as factors that led to the success of the system are presented in this case study are discussed.
