The aim of the paper is to estimate and to compare sharing economy development processes in17 EU countries and the United Kingdom. Based on literature review, authors compiled a set of indicatorsand used them for research purposes. The selected indicators were assigned into four main groups: socio-demographical, economic, technological and political factors. The research used data for years 2012–2016.For research purpose authors applied the AHP (Analytic Hierarchy Process) method and modelled foursituations by attributing greater or lesser significance to the different group of indicators. The results showedthat attributing graded significances to the different groups is critical and affects the ranking of countries.en_US
