Virtual reality technology is now being used in many industries. It also plays an increasingly important role in training systems, which are also related to transportation in the broadest sense. The effectiveness of the use of Virtual reality technology in training processes is possible due to several factors relating to exposure to realistic scenarios, the ability to hone practical skills in a more engaging and immersive way than traditional methods, and the individualization of the training process. One of the elements of the training process is the trainee’s exposure to adverse events. This article aims to present the results of a risk analysis to develop training scenarios for cargo handlers on the airside. The study used The Swiss Cheese Model and Fault Tree Analysis. Based on a 5-step procedure process that included analysis of the current process, identification of adverse events, identification of causes of adverse events, logical cause investigation, and brainstorming, results were obtained to develop training scenarios that use an immersive virtual reality system. Conclusions from the implemented research provide a theoretical basis for developing training scenarios for personnel responsible for cargo handling in the warehouse and apron area.en_US
