System thinking in project management

Abstract

Project management has been used as a tool to improve competitive advantage for several years. This study examines a very important direction which is system thinking in project management. It is proven that in project management, as in other systems, the key issue is to take into account several points of view, not just the only one. In project management it is necessary to take into account four areas: methodology, organization, people and information systems that determine project management maturity in companies. Data were obtained from an extensive literature review and questionnaire surveys.
