Assessment of “Park and Ride” system installation in Vilnius city by using current transport infrastructure

Abstract

Nowadays, municipalities and residences are faced with traffic problem over number of cars, road covering conditions, weak infrastructure and accidents on roads. Many years „Park and Ride“ („P+R“) system helps to prevent these problems in countries as England, Australia, Germany, Netherlands etc. In this article was done an assessment of installation of „P+R“ system in Vilnius city by taking into current infrastructure. The analysis of system was done and advantages and disadvantages were defined.
