Driver assist systems: adaptive cruise control
Abstract
The present paper classifies driver assist systems according to driving intervene, the level of automation, evolution, and development. The more detailed report explains the function and demonstrates limits of Adaptive Cruise Control. Paper further provides information about automated car drive and driver behaviour adaptation to driving with Adaptive Cruise Control. In this sense, two examples of behavioural adaptation studies show Adaptive Cruise Control potential to minimise differences among driver behaviours (braking level and time headway), but on the other hand, Adaptive Cruise Control reduces the percent of safe braking situations.
