The research shows that increased road traffic causes insufficient parking space, which is one of the biggest problems related to city planning. On-street parking usually permitted in urban design, sometimes in common design, and never in suburban or high-speed street design categories. On-street parallel parking recommended as a buffer between pedestrians and motor vehicle traffic. Parallel parking is the safest parking from the accident perspective. However, it consumes the maximum kerb length, and therefore drivers can park only a minimum number of vehicles for a given kerb length. There are many studies done related to on-street parking safety. At the same time, a lot of them are methodologically weak. Many studies do not differ between injury accidents and property-damage-only accidents. Regarding crash risk factor, on-street parking with annual average daily traffic less than 3,000 appear to be a parking with low crash risk. However, on-street parking facilities should not appear on streets with traffic volume over 10,000 vehicles per day.en_US
