Abstract
The protection of individuals and property can be defined as procedures and processes aimed at achieving a state of security for individuals and property using available resources, including technical, personnel, information, and others. State institutions such as police forces and armed forces, as well as non-state institutions, primarily private security services and guards, are dedicated to ensuring the protection of individuals and property. The level and method of this protection are determined by the security situation (crime rate) in a specific country and the legal regulations (laws, standards, and decrees) that govern possible methods of protection. The financial situation of a particular company and the available resources/finances for safeguarding individuals and property significantly impact the level of protection provided. This article is primarily focused on the physical protection of objects by drones. The issue at hand pertains to security management. The aim of this article is to describe the possible methods of property protection using drones or robots, along with their advantages, disadvantages, and potential barriers to their implementation. During the COVID-19 pandemic, security managers had to contend with a lack of personnel due to COVID-19-related impacts or their involvement in testing and monitoring individuals entering facilities. This deficiency could not be compensated for by employing regular staff. Given the increasing cost of labour, security managers today are seeking effective ways to safeguard the perimeters of objects or large open areas within companies. The use of drones presents an interesting and promising solution, although it is not without its complexities.
