Biometrics has become an increasingly popular technology in the transportation industry, as it can enhance road safety. Biometric data involves the use of physiological or behavioral characteristics to determine a person's condition. This article discusses the use of biometric technology in vehicles to ensure the safety of drivers and passengers. The article emphasizes that biometric technologies, such as sensory cameras and sensors, can be an effective tool for monitoring the state and actions of drivers, thereby reducing potential causes of accidents. In addition, it explores the legal aspects related to the collection of biometric data, aiming to ensure data security and privacy. The article provides several recommendations for using biometric data in vehicles, which include data security, access control, transparency, and compliance with relevant laws. Moreover, it is mentioned that drivers’ different health and condition factors need to be considered to ensure reliable collection of biometric data. In the practical section, an expert evaluation is discussed that analyzes the five most commonly used biometric data reading technologies. The study found that the most effective technologies in use are a belt with sensors and a bracelet, a sensory camera, and a bracelet, using them together or replacing one with the other.
